Reflections

My mother placed me in an educational institution when I was five, and I remained in one ever since! However, much learning is available away from organised set-ups. Sharing experiences is a wonderful human activity.

At Pan-y-fan

Our stay at Pan-y-fan has been a successful and colourful experience.

Not only we were lucky to bring a spell of sunshine to Swanage to share with its residents and visitors, but also listed yet another string of well-wishers to our treasure of friends and aquaintances.

The wedding was instrumental to the rest of us living elsewhere to pay another visit to a wonderful town, an event always welcomed and looked forward to. Revisiting the resort is always sentimental because it helps us maintaining an ever flourishing family ties.

But this time round staying at Pan-y-fan further enhanced the sentimental perspective. This house has a caring atmosphere in every corner, loving memories in every room, and a glimpse of the recent past in every nook and cranny. The collection of books peppering the ubiquitous multi-purpose shelves, is an incentive to further reading, even when available in an unexpected less comfortable sitting stance. The furniture is a reminder of brilliant craftsmanship, when the items were still considered works of art. The house awards great credit to this collection of antique furniture.

Some of the best history lessons come alive visiting places like Pan-y-fan. Old suitcases reminiscent of old difficult war times presumably storing highly valued family secrets with the children's preserved soft toys are only a few cases in point.

There is so much to learn, there is so much to discover that eight days were not enough to cope.

The rest, therefore, must be left for our next visit, when yet another eventful visit will be again recorded in the house’s visitors’ book.
