Reflections

My mother placed me in an educational institution when I was five, and I remained in one ever since! However, much learning is available away from organised set-ups. Sharing experiences is a wonderful human activity.

Targets.

The hunter's target is the game, Tell's was the apple, the manager's his institution, saintly souls the pearly gates, and the politician's good governance, to mention a small sample.

It can safely be stated that we all have our targets.

Complex targets equate with complex lives. Both elements of the equation balance out in direct proportion. This does not induce a person to opt for the simplest list of targets. One’s station in life, especially a public life, conditions to a larger extent, one’s drawing up of one’s list of tqrgets, with equally essential emphasis on prioritization.

Of course, though sounding pretty obvious, clear and understandable, yet chaining up one’s outlook with uncertainty and doubts on the best steps to be taken in particular circumstances, might lead to ruin and self-destruction.

Missing a target is frustrating. Sometimes one's self esteem suffers a setback, the magnitude of which is often proportionate to one's resilience. But it is rising after a fall that tempers attitudes and characters, exiting the stage stronger than entering the scene to voice the lines.

“There is a tide in the affairs of men,
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.”

Financial success, satisfying amorous encounters, family respectful sentiments between husband-wife-offspring, political prowess, gold medals in sporting prowess, the list is too long to be exhaustive, are all there for pick-up and realization. The choice, of course, depends on values and standards.
